Have you been to Cook Out??

cook out, cook, out, restaurant, fredericksburg, review, family, eatingHave you been to Cook Out yet?? If your answer is “no”, then you have a new place to try! Maybe you haven’t even heard of Cook Out and think that it is a brand new restaurant. It was actually founded 26 years ago in Greensboro, NC and now has over 130 locations throughout the South. The idea behind Cook Out is to be able to get great backyard style food, for fast food prices, with excellent service. The menu includes burgers, hot dogs, chicken, fries, over 40 types of milkshakes (peanut butter/banana is amazing!) and much more. Here is a link to the full menu: http://cookout.com/index.php/online-menu.

I was so excited to hear that the Fredericksburg location was opening a few months ago. My wife and I used to live in Greensboro, NC, and we would always stop once or twice (or three times) while visiting old friends and family. Most of their other locations have a double drive-through without any inside seating. I was happy to see that our location also includes seating. During the first few weeks of business, the lines were wrapped around the building at all hours of the day. This showed me that I wasn’t the only one excited about our newest restaurant in the ‘Burg.

Once the lines died down I decided that it was the perfect opportunity for a father/daughters date night. I took the girls and it was a great time with great food! I got the Cook Out Style tray which includes a drink and two sides (over ten great choices). You have to try the Cook Out Style burger which includes: mustard, onion, homemade slaw, and homemade chili. It is the best!! Pretty much all of the menu items are kid friendly, and my daughter has loved it every time we have gone! The bottom line is that it is a great restaurant to take the family out for great food at a really reasonable price! Let me know your thoughts about Cook Out after you try it yourself. It is located in the Burlington Coat factory shopping center on Route 3.cook out, cook, out, fredericksburg, review, restaurant

How to Find the Best Schools!

Student walking on the highway while looking at a question mark

Have you ever worried about the quality of education your child is receiving at school? If you answered yes, you are not alone! Our children’s education is a top priority for most of us. There are so many options out there today including public school, private school, homeschool, and even completely online e-learning! It is a difficult decision to make, and it is definitely important to take some time to research the best options for your family.

As a real estate professional, one of the most common questions is “How are the schools in this neighborhood?” Unfortunately, we are not allowed to give our opinion on the quality of schools in a particular area. This is very subjective and my opinion of quality could be completely different from your opinion. I always recommend that clients do some research by going to the local school district’s website to find out more about what they offer. Here are two websites that you can check out that help you make an educated decision when deciding on the best schools for your family:

Greatschools.org – http://www.greatschools.org/

  • Per their website: GreatSchools is a non-profit that has information on more than 200,000 preK-12 schools – public, public charter and private – and they also have over one million reviews from parents, teachers and students. The site has great articles, worksheets, and videos to help you improve learning at home. They have a new personalized education guide called GreatKids, it helps parents see how their children are doing, support their learning, and find great education resources.

SchoolDigger.com – http://www.schooldigger.com/

  • Per their website: SchoolDigger.com’s purpose is to empower parents like you to make informed choices about choosing a school for your child. They have information on over 136,000 schools in every state in the US, including enrollment data, test scores, crime data, and even real estate data. Their core mission is to make SchoolDigger.com the easiest, most useful school search and comparison site on the Web. The site is easy to use and easy to navigate.
